My parents died in a car accident when I was six years old and then I moved from London to Devon to live with my Nan. I struggled to come to terms with their death and when I was 14, I started to self-harm as a way to deal with my emotions. I stopped when I was 18 and went to Art College where I found that I could express my emotions through my art work. However, I have struggled with it at points in my life since then.
I am now using my experiences of mental health problems to help teach and train a variety of professionals in the medical field. I want to work with schools to help show students, through my story, that it is far better to talk about their problems than to let them build up.
