I trained as a primary school teacher and worked in London state schools for 16 years before moving to Devon where I retrained to teach literacy to adults. I then worked for Learn Devon, teaching literacy and creative writing to predominantly vulnerable groups. I am now happily retired and involved in a variety of voluntary positions, which I love.
I put the Five Lives team together in 2015 and I liaise and organise visits with schools and other organisations. I feel very fortunate that I have found such a dynamic and committed team to work with. We all feel passionate about this work and the potential we have for changing perceptions and possibly life choices. The response we have received from schools has been overwhelmingly positive, with repeat visits booked every year. I hope that many more schools will see the value of these workshops and book us in the future.
